It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we are looking for a very special home for Flynn (was Phoenix).
Sadly, due to heartbreaking changes in his owner's health, she has made the selfless decision to find Flynn a loving new family while she is still able to be part of the process. Her only wish is to know that her much loved boy will be safe, happy and just as adored as he is now.
Flynn has lived happily in his home for almost a year and has been an absolute joy. He is a calm, affectionate, gentle Golden Retriever who simply loves being close to his people. Whether it's cuddles on the sofa, following you around the house or curling up beside your bed at night, Flynn just wants to be part of the family.
He is fully house-trained, walks beautifully on the lead once settled and enjoys his off-lead adventures in secure areas, with an excellent recall to his current owner. He can be left for short periods and settles well.
Flynn currently lives happily with both a cat and a budgie and has also lived around other dogs. He has previously worked through a dislike of some larger dark coloured dogs with pointy ears and now ignores them well. He has never shown aggression towards people or other animals in his home and is not a barker.
He absolutely adores children and has spent time with his owner's young granddaughter, always seeking out cuddles and affection. He has also coped brilliantly with visitors, household activity and even building work without being fazed.
Flynn has partial cataracts which do not require treatment. They only affect him slightly in low light, but he manages extremely well and enjoys a full, active life.
He travels well in the car once he's in, enjoys his toys (which are usually scattered around the house and garden!), loves his raw diet and bedtime kefir treat, and has impeccable manners around food.
His owner describes him as a true gentleman and believes he would fit into almost any loving home. Ideally, we'd love to find him a quieter household where he can enjoy plenty of company, affection and all the love he deserves. An older person or couple, perhaps with visiting grandchildren, would suit him beautifully but most importantly, we are looking for someone who will cherish him as much as he has been cherished already.
Flynn will come with his belongings, including his leads, harnesses, collars, raincoat (he's not a fan of the rain!), toys and blankets that smell like home to help him settle.
This is an incredibly sad rehoming, and we are determined to find Flynn the perfect forever home where he can continue to enjoy the wonderful life he deserves.
