OTHER INFO: Benny was one of just two surviving pups after his mum Fley was rescued from the streets, distressed and heavily pregnant. Sadly Fley passed away shortly after giving birth, to suspect heart failure due to the stress of her life before rescue.
Benny travelled to the UK and was adopted shortly after, he had been with his adoptive family for just over a year now.
Unfortunately Benny has struggled to settle in his current environment and needs a calmer, quieter home possibly with another well matched dog who can help him to build his confidence and show him the way.
Benny can be reactive towards some other dogs and some people when on lead and on walks so he needs an environment where he is able to go for walks on his terms in order to build his confidence and a family who can support this.
Benny currently also finds it hard to cope with visitors and will initially need to use his safe space in order to build his confidence and learn more positive associations to this scenario.
Benny is a very clever boy and highly trainable. He loves to learn and play games that work his mind such as hide and seek scent games with treats.
He also loves learning agility at the secure field and it would be lovely if this activity could continue in his new home.
Benny loves playing with his toys, especially soft squeaky ones or his Kong and enjoys a yak milk or ostrich bone.
He also loves being brushed, laying in front of the fire and, despite not being a lap dog, being held in your arms for a cuddle!
Benny really loves his food and gets very excited at meal times, he is food driven which will help with further training.
Benny is a healthy boy and up to date with his vaccinations.
