OTHER INFO: Bonnie was adopted 5 years ago, and she is a very loved girl by her family, so this is an incredibly difficult decision for all involved. The family are all heartbroken but know that it is the right thing to do for Bonnie.
After the arrival of a baby a year ago, poor Bonnie has really struggled to adjust to the new family dynamics, which has led to her guarding the baby from their other dog.
The family have tried their best to manage the situation but, following advice from various sources including Second Chance, it has been agreed that the best thing is to find Bonnie a new home where she doesn't have to worry about protecting any babies or children.
Bonnie currently lives with another dog who she is bonded with and has always got on well with and would be happy to live with another dog.
Bonnie is a sweet and snuggly girl who loves nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa or snuggling in bed with her humans.
Bonnie is always up for a game and enjoys playing with her toys. She is a highly intelligent girl and very well trained, her party trick is using her talking buttons to tell you when she wants food, a walk or to go for a wee wee!
Bonnie absolutely loves her walks, having a good run and exploring her environment. Her favourite walks are long and rambling, so an active home would be perfect for Bonnie.
Bonnie has great recall, but, as with any dog, this would need to be introduced as part of your bond in a new home before just letting her off lead. Squirrels can provide 'extra fun', but she always comes back after the chase!
Bonnie is very social and is fine meeting other dogs on walks. She loves to run and play in the field with the dogs she meets.
She is also a real foodie and loves her meals and treats!
Bonnie can be sensitive to loud noises such as fireworks, which, like many dogs, can make her a bit anxious and need comforting.
Bonnie travels well in the car. She loves to look out the window and watch the world go by while travelling.
She is happy being left home alone for periods of time and will either snuggle on the sofa or play with their other dog.
Bonnie is a healthy girl with no concerns. She had her vaccination booster and 3 monthly flea and worming treatment on Monday 11th November, including Kennel Cough vaccination, and was recently groomed with teeth cleaned and claws clipped with a fuss and a little encouragement!
Bonnie is a loving and loyal companion. Her family say that she is a kind old soul that, when she isn't enjoying her walks, she lives to sunbathe and snuggle up on the sofa.
Bonnie would make a perfect addition to an active, child free family looking for a slighter older rescue who has lived in a home for a long time and is used to routine of family life.
