Dougie was rescued from the streets of Bosnia as a tiny puppy with his mum Penny and siblings. While his mum and most of his littermates are now adopted and happily settled, Dougie has sadly experienced much disruption and multiple changes through no fault of his own.

Dougie is a very sweet, affectionate boy once he trusts you. He bonds closely to 'his person' and has a playful, cheeky side, especially with other dogs. He absolutely thrives with canine companionship and will need a steady, confident, playful resident dog to help him feel safe and show him the way.

However, Dougie is a very sensitive soul. He is wary of handling and currently fearful of having a harness put on and, as much as he loves playing in the garden, he has never been for a walk.

For this reason, Dougie will need an experienced, calm foster home that understands fearful dogs and is willing to work at his pace without pressure.

Dougie does not need acres of land or forced exercise, he needs stability, predictability, calm leadership, time, patience and, most importantly, A REAL CHANCE!

He has previously been crate trained and does well with structure and routine when given the chance to settle properly.

Dougie is looking for a special, understanding, experienced foster carer with a confident, friendly resident dog. A secure garden, minimal visitors initially and absolutely no pressure around walks or equipment, this will be worked on gradually and at Dougie's pace.

Dougie is an affectionate, playful and loving boy but he needs the right environment to truly feel safe and thrive.

He has just been so incredibly unlucky with disrupted placements, and we are determined to get this right for him now.
