Walter is a handsome, intelligent boy who is sadly looking for a foster or forever home after spending over five years in the same family home. Unfortunately, he is struggling with the increasing activity and unpredictability of the 11-month-old baby in the home and would be much happier in a calmer environment.
Walter is a great mix of active and relaxed. He enjoys getting out for long walks and adventures but is equally happy curled up on the sofa afterwards. He has excellent house manners, is fully toilet trained, sleeps happily in his own room overnight and, once settled, can be left alone for several hours without any issues.
Walter is very food motivated and enjoys learning. He knows a range of basic commands including sit, down, wait, up and off. He is well behaved around the home and has never been destructive.
He is in good health, up to date with core vaccinations, kennel cough vaccination, and flea and worming treatments.
Walter can be selective about his dog friends and prefers quality over quantity when it comes to canine companionship. He may be able to live with a well-matched dog following gradual, well managed introductions, but he would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the home.
Walter forms strong bonds with his people and loves being part of the family. He can be wary of some unfamiliar people, particularly if introductions are rushed or he is startled, so he is looking for a calm and understanding home that will allow him to build trust at his own pace.
Walter would love to find an experienced and knowledgeable home that can offer him a calmer, dog-centred environment where he can relax, enjoy his walks and adventures, and continue being a much-loved companion.
After spending over five years in a loving home, Walter deserves to find a family who will give him the time, patience and commitment he needs to settle into the next chapter of his life.
